Delete Account Policy

At LegeTopup, we respect your right to control your personal information. If you wish to delete your account, this policy explains how the process works, what data will be removed, and what information must be legally retained.

1. How to Request Account Deletion

You can request complete deletion of your account using either of the following methods:

• Web Request: Submit your request through your profile settings or by contacting administrative support.
• Include your account details (registered phone number or email) and explicitly request account removal. Our admin team will verify ownership before proceeding.

2. What Happens When Your Account Is Deleted

• Your personal profile credentials (name, email address, mobile number, encrypted password) will be permanently purged from active databases.
• Your wallet balance will be closed (ensure zero balance or request withdrawal prior to deletion).
• You will immediately lose access to your dashboard and previous digital transaction receipts.

3. Statutory Data Retention (Financial & Legal Obligations)

In accordance with statutory financial compliance regulations and the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023, certain data cannot be immediately destroyed upon account closure:

• Financial Transaction Logs: Records of bill payments, wallet funding, and utility transactions are retained in encrypted archives for statutory auditing and fraud prevention purposes.
• Anonymized System Logs: Non-identifiable technical activity data may be preserved for security and platform analysis.

4. Deletion Timeframe

After your identity is verified, account deletion is completed within 7 business days. You will receive a confirmation message once your profile is permanently unlinked.

5. Important Checklist Before Requesting Deletion

• Exhaust or withdraw remaining wallet balances.
• Download any necessary transaction history or receipts for personal records.
• Understand that profile deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
